Fashionista Turned Recessionista
After losing my PR job at the luxury brand HOLLYWOULD at the end of 2008, I found myself jobless during the worst-possible economy. I went from fashionista to recessionista. My world of fashion shows and red carpet events was over. I traded in my cocktail dresses for my pajamas and champagne for coffee as I spent months searching for my next great job. During an unsuccessful job search, I started the Red Carpet Recessionista blog to follow my adventures in funemployment. I found a way to glamorize unemployment through budget-friendly activities, sample sales, free food and drinks. I was even featured in French ELLE for my take on funemployment. After a six-month job search, I am finally back in the working world. Sticking to true recessionista form, I am working for designer-online sale-mecca Gilt Groupe.
